Hydrogen Peroxide, to clean dog urine?
Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE my dogs :)… I have two small dogs one that is still a puppy and he does have a potty accident every now and then when he gets super EXCITED!! I have always used Hydrogen Peroxide for other things besides the kids cuts and scrapes. One day I was talking with a client about how difficult it is to get the dog urine odor out of the carpet and they suggested that I try Hydrogen Peroxide to clean the urine. To my surprise it is the BEST carpet cleaner I have every tried!! You use one cup of Hydrogen Peroxide, one teaspoon of baking soda and a very small amount of soap. (I only use about one pump of soap just for the fresh smell. I clean up the spot with a cloth or a paper towel to remove the wet urine and then i pour the mix right over the spot and leave it wet. It will take a while to dry this way, but it’s worth it in the end because the smell is gone. The dogs do not even go back to the spot after it has been cleaned, they can not smell it either!! I do check the spot and if the odor is still there then I will clean again using the same method.
Some other uses for Hydrogen Peroxide are:
In the laundry, it’s great for helping remove stains and keeping clothes bright
Use it in your dishwasher as a sanitizer for the dishes and the washer
Wipe the kitchen counters with
Clean the toilets – helps remove bacteria
Use it on your sponges
It will whiten the grout lines in tile
